Sound Beach fishing charter.
You live on the fishing grounds — 5 minutes to the dock.
Captain Skippy Charters is Sound Beach's private fishing charter — a straight 5-minute drive west on Route 25A to our dock at Mount Sinai Marina. The Long Island Sound off Sound Beach is literally the water we fish. Private, USCG-licensed, 1–4 anglers, all-in pricing.
You live on the fishing grounds
Look out from Sound Beach on a summer morning and there's a good chance you'll see the Christina M II working the ledges offshore. The sandy edges and rock structure that hold striped bass, fluke, black sea bass and porgies through the summer are the same water your kids swim in. In the fall we shift east to the rocky bottoms for blackfish. It's the shortest possible commute from "beach town" to "fishing trip."
What we run
- Half-Day Mixed Bag (May 1 – Oct 10, $600 / boat, 5 hours) — striped bass, bluefish, fluke, sea bass, porgies. Morning or afternoon departures.
- Fall Blackfish (Oct 11 – Nov 30, $700 / boat, 6 hours) — the tautog trip.
- Kid-friendly, family-friendly, beginner-friendly. Kid-sized life jackets aboard.
Why Sound Beach residents like this trip
Two words: no traffic. From Sound Beach to our dock is a quick west run on 25A with no ferry lines, no Port Jefferson harbor traffic, and no long drive to a Fire Island or East End launch. You can be on the water within 30 minutes of leaving your house. That short commute matters when you have kids in the party or a group that doesn't want to spend the day driving.
Directions from Sound Beach
Take Route 25A west about 4 miles to Mount Sinai. Turn right on Harbor Beach Road, pass the marina guard booth, take the first left into the Town Marina lot. Head to the far east side of the lot at the loading ramp; the Christina M II ties up at the first dock.
