Fully credentialed
USCG-licensed 50-ton Master with OUPV (six-pack) endorsement. Insured boat. Coast Guard safety-equipped.
Mount Sinai Harbor · Long Island Sound
USCG-licensed Captain Skippy has been chasing striped bass, blackfish, and fluke on these waters for over twenty years. Small group. Big fish. The way charter fishing is supposed to feel.
Why fish with Skippy
Most charter operations stuff six strangers on one rail and call it a day. We don't. Every trip is yours alone — your party, your pace, your spots.
USCG-licensed 50-ton Master with OUPV (six-pack) endorsement. Insured boat. Coast Guard safety-equipped.
Two decades of logged seasons on this exact stretch of the Sound. The structure, the tides, the patterns — all in our heads.
1–4 anglers per trip, max. You won't share the boat with strangers. Bring the family, the buddies, or the bachelor party.
Rods, reels, bait, tackle, and NY fishing licenses are all on us. We even clean, fillet and bag your catch — free.
The Christina M II runs a Minnkota trolling motor and modern electronics to keep you on the bite when conditions get tough.
Text, call, or email Skippy directly. No middlemen, no third-party platforms, no surprise fees.
The trips
Captain Skippy runs private charters from May through early December, with trip style and target species shifting with the season.
Summer season · ~4 hours on the water
Trolling, jigging, live bait and bottom-fishing for striped bass, bluefish, fluke, black sea bass and porgies.
Tautog season · 6 hours bottom fishing
The fall classic. Anchored over structure, crabbing, picking off the white-chinned ambush kings of the Sound.
Custom · time and target negotiable
Bachelor parties, corporate days, kids' first trip, sunset cruises, scattering ashes at sea — we'll build a trip around what matters to you.
Meet Captain Skippy
Captain Skippy isn't a name on a brochure — he's the guy at the helm, the guy tying your knots, the guy who's been fishing the central Long Island Sound longer than most charter operations have existed. He's earned his 50-ton Master and OUPV credentials the long way: by spending real seasons reading these tides.
Catch log
Stripers in May. Fluke in July. Sea bass through summer. Tautog in November. The Sound delivers all year.
