Captain Skippy Charters is the private fishing charter option for the Ronkonkoma / Lake Grove / Long Island MacArthur Airport area — about a 30-minute drive north to our dock at Mount Sinai Marina. Especially convenient for out-of-town guests flying into Islip / MacArthur or arriving by LIRR.

If you're picking up friends or family at Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) or the Ronkonkoma LIRR station and want to give them a genuine Long Island fishing experience, we're the shortest quality option. Land, grab the car, drive 30 minutes north, and you're on the boat. Half-day trip, back to the airport by evening. It's become a real "welcome to Long Island" move for our Ronkonkoma-based customers.

Trip time budget from Ronkonkoma

Plan roughly: 30 minutes drive north to the dock, dock walk-on at your departure time, 5-hour half-day (or 6-hour fall trip), 30 minutes back. So a morning trip leaves your house around 4:30 AM and gets you home by early afternoon; an afternoon trip leaves around 2:00 PM and gets you home right after dark. Sunset departure trips are especially popular from your area — a beautiful ride out and back into Mount Sinai Harbor at dusk.

Directions from Ronkonkoma

From Ronkonkoma / Lake Grove: take Nicolls Road (Route 97) north to Route 25A. Turn east (right) on 25A. Continue through Setauket and Port Jefferson into Mount Sinai (about 12 more miles from Nicolls). Right on Harbor Beach Road, past the marina guard booth, first left into the Town Marina lot.
