East Setauket fishing charter.
20 minutes east — Old Field is your local water.
Captain Skippy Charters is the private fishing charter for the East Setauket / Setauket area — a straight 20-minute drive east on Route 25A through Port Jefferson to our dock at Mount Sinai Marina. Private-only, 1–4 anglers, all tackle and NY fishing license included. Kids and first-timers welcome.
Water we fish from Setauket
Old Field sits immediately off the Setauket peninsula, and it's one of our bread-and-butter spots. The ledges and structure that hold striped bass, fluke and porgies from spring through October, and blackfish through the fall, are essentially the water you look at from Setauket Harbor. We fish them regularly. From our Mount Sinai dock the run to Old Field is about 15 minutes — you'll pass most of the water we work on the way out.
Stony Brook / SBU / Three Village families
A lot of our East Setauket customers are Stony Brook University families, Three Village neighbors, and folks who work in Port Jefferson but live along that side of the peninsula. A private half-day trip fits between a class schedule or a workday, and the boat is set up for 1–4 anglers with real fishing room — no packed head-boat rail. See our FAQ for what to bring and how the trip runs.
